Tonight
a certain man in a position of authority over me completely humiliated me in public, more so than I have ever been in my life, for no good reason whatsoever. there was yelling, bullying, personal attacks, and what have you to the point that I just wanted to renounce this place to the world and go on many a long ‘fuck this god fucking forsaken place’ rants. But after maybe perhaps crying a little bit in the bathroom so many people reached out to support me, to reassure me, to tell me I’m great and not to let the man get me down (a solid chunk of the lab essentially group-hugged me and a postdoc’s wife went out of her way to send me some encouragement after hearing) that i feel so uplifted and good about myself and people as a whole. So much more so than said authority figure could ever fucking bring me down.
